Wah lao.... zzzzzzz

i posted smth then blogger tell mi got some problem.... sigh

oh well.. i think i was saying smth abt studying genetics yesterday. like the whole day.

and on tuesday, i had my kung fu grading. getting my white belt... -.-

haha.. i think i shld be able to get it. oh well... hahaha.

and on wed, i had my ICM tutorial.

ICM = Intro to Clinical Management

its like teaching us how to interview patients, what info we need and stuff.

its a balance of getting medical info and communication skills, plus memory work.

not as easy as it seems...

and for our exam(its called the OSCE)

OSCE= Objective Structured Clinical Examination

they pay actors to be patients and yeam its realli realli realistic. haha

and for pract, they came to class and i was one of 4 students the teacher picked to interview her(prolly cos i don talk much in class)

man was i nervous... haha.. i think i was shaking la but i didnt show it.

there is sort of like a checklist and halfway i just tot aiya to hell with it, just talk to her normally and see what comes...

to my surprise, it just flowed and yea, i got all the info while making the patient feel at ease.

The comments:
the "patient" enjoyed it and said it was just like a conversation, and i was very friendly. haha
my teacher say i did well, and it didnt seem like a consultation, whilst still managing to get all the required info. she oso added that she and the class was like being sucked into our conversation, waiting to see what happens next.

and that i kinda realised... yes... this is what i wanted all along

yea.. i do stuff differently...

i'll nv be the smartest person or the person who rmbs the most stuff...
i never will be the best doctor there is...
but i can make the patient feel good...
i can do stuff in my own way and still achieve the desired result...
and yea...
i enjoyed the "consultation"

haha...

today had my genetics pract.

had to draw family trees and stuff... have to predict the risk of genetic conditions. so mani types and kinds of mutations.

types:
Autosomal Dominant
Autosomal Recessive
X- linked dominant
X- linked recessive

so mani la... got damn blur... had to go for the pract twice... haha.. 6 hrs gone.. -.-

lol... ter ar... how i know what i wanna go into sia... i mean.. u want and u can is 2 so diff tingys

but i do hope i can get into surgery

OB/GYN(surgery) , neurosurgery or cardiothoracic surgery also...

so tough and compeititive. sigh... but i will do my best..

truth is i'll settle for surgery.. haha... or if i cant, psychiatry...

i hope to work in a govt hospital....

though mani frens ask mi to open clinic and stuff. like have a few doctors work together haha..

co-op medicine. like get a plastic surgeon, psy, ob/gyn/ paediatrician/ lawyer/ TCM practioner and stuff.... sounds fun and all but yea... i would be a surgeon anytime... haha

so i guess this is my plans for now... and for my year 3 i have 1 year of research.

hope to get surgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital
or prolly some research in neuroscience.

alot to choose from haven seen all.. can choose to do in Singapore oso LOL.
