So new year and a new start. So far, its been kinda bad.
-still a little homesick dont know why
-its realli hot, hotter than singapore
-surrounded by people with auras and the look that says " i know everything" is not a good place to be. Or at the very least, ive never liked it. I'm sure many of u guys at Uni feel the same as me. Lost, unsure and dont know what in the world the lecturer is talking about. Well, same as me. Anyways din get much updates from u guys so tell mi whats up.
- oo and i promise to update more often. Kinda lazy and no time. actually have la but most of my time is spent slacking or studyin.
-should start to move my lazy ass to go somewhere. looking at the 6 years ive got ahead, guess i still have time.
Since ive been here, i have been bombarded with stuff.
So many admin stuff to settle and im proud to say, I do not have TB. which the BCG does not prevent if u guys dunno. Wasted our jab. Ah wells...
I have signed up for 2 free insurances becos medicos get sued rather frequently.. (heartwarming realli...) but i guess i don have to worry abt it now..
Ive read a article on an ongoing debate on health professionals. Doctors complain that medical graduates nowadays are over-trained in the art of communication and as a result, have poor knowledge in anatomy.
I have a 1 hr lecture and 3.5 hours of tutes on communication each week.
Thinking about it, that may be true.
However, i think thats the only way i can survive in my course. Given than im not realli smart and have to read and read and read to get stuff, i guess marks given for communication skills is better for mi. Which is kinda one of the main reasons i decided to do medicine. To be able to talk and relate to people. (though i need a HUGE improvement in that field)
as proof, i haven been able to make many friends. its hard when everyone's so uptight about assigments and results.
However, i do believe that the statistics do not lie and medicos are in need of communication workshops (realli glad they have it)
20 hours of anatomy classes will kill me.
If u guys are wondering how many subs i have, i have 2 subjects with roughly 20 contact hours per week. Sometimes more.
1. Principles of Biomedical Science <---- huge pain
2. Health Practice 1 (which consisits of Introduction to Clinical Medicine)
its the non contact hours that are killing me. i never get what is happening in lectures and have to spend like 3-4 hours after each lecture just to find out what is happening.
Thats all for now i guess. Hope u guys will update me.
